Pine Hills Retirement Community was designed from it’s inception to have amenities that would be attractive to our local friends and neighbors. We chose the location and architectural design and features to compliment and facilitate luxury retirement living in the beautiful Black Hills.
Founded in 2006 by local community leaders and business owners, Pine Hills is still locally owned and operated by some of the original founders.

Ownership

Many retirement communities are owned by large corporations, but Pine Hills is pleased to provide its residents with the many advantages of having local owners who visit the community often. They chose the location, created the common areas, and designed the apartment floor plans to create the premier senior living environment in the Southern Black Hills.
Dorothy Wyatt personally oversaw the interior design. Kel Lorenz and Steve Wyatt worked on the building’s design and oversaw all the details of construction. Harold Wyatt was a valuable voice of reason and the sounding board for many of the major decisions through out the process. As a highly skilled and talented local contractor Kel also chose the stone and built the community’s beautiful living room fireplace. Business executive Charles “Eddie” Clay, was active in marketing the community and loved to bring guests to the dining room for dinner.
